Zemantauskas FC's Matheus Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 3rd minute of play. When Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zemantauskas FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 7thth minute of the game Nelsinho Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zemantauskas FC's Matheus Carneiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raí Sousa's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raí Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, Zemantauskas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Soeiro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Pau Lin-Carlos might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matheus Carneiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pau Lin-Carlos ran back to his position shaking his head. 16 minutes into the game, Christiano Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zemantauskas FC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Christiano Palmeira. Nelson Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Zemantauskas FC defense, Ronaldo Pirani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matheus Carneiro. The Zemantauskas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matheus Carneiro should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Zemantauskas FC's zone, Nelsinho Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matheus Carneiro came out of the goal and Nelsinho Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matheus Carneiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Matheus Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 30th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Marinho in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matheus Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Soeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 37 minutes into the match, Zemantauskas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Matheus Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes of play Zemantauskas FC's Raí Sousa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 38 played minutes Zemantauskas FC got a freekick which was hit by Raí Sousa. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Zemantauskas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matheus Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Orella in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

With his leg Matheus Carneiro managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 58th minute of the match Peder Neira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matheus Carneiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Pau Lin-Carlos took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Matheus Carneiro to make any attempt to save it. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar de Amorim in the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ezequiel de Souza hit a great ball. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelsinho Marinho got free with Matheus Carneiro in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matheus Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Orella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronaldo Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronaldo Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Ademar de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Peder Neira made a precise shot to the right of Matheus Carneiro. Zemantauskas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Nelsinho Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Matheus Carneiro made a huge save. With a little luck, Zemantauskas FC's Matheus Carneiro got control of the ball when Nelsinho Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85thth minute of the game Nelsinho Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zemantauskas FC's Matheus Carneiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th play minute Nelsinho Marinho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matheus Carneiro. 1-5. Matheus Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 95th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The Palestra do Interior players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
