An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Rosado in the 3rd minute of play forced Gasoleros FC's goalkeeper Gilberto Belarmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the game, one of Gasoleros FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 8th minute there was a penalty for Mundial EC. Lauro Trigo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gilberto Belarmo. 0-1. Vladimiro Tohias hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Mundial EC's Leonardo Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Anselmo Sampaio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gilberto Belarmo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Sampaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Belarmo was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Rosado in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Belarmo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilberto Belarmo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Sampaio's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. After 34 minutes, Anselmo Sampaio made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Gasoleros FC's Gilberto Belarmo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilberto Belarmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Saldanha in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Mundial EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Sampaio to maneuver through the defense. When Mundial EC's Leonardo Rosado in 47 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gilberto Belarmo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Gasoleros FC's Ildefonso Marino got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 56th minute of the match Vladimiro Tohias shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruy Arce showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Chicão de Britos short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Gilberto Belarmo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Anselmo Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Mundial EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Sampaio couldn't finish the play. In the 70thth minute of the game Leonardo Rosado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gasoleros FC's Gilberto Belarmo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gasoleros FC's Gilberto Belarmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Rosado in the 72nd minute of play. The Mundial EC fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Mundial EC's Anselmo Sampaio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Sampaio in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Belarmo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Gasoleros FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jorge Evarado hit a great ball. Ruy Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Marino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mundial EC booed when Gasoleros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Aztore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Rosado charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Rosado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 85 played minutes Mundial EC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Rosado. Mundial EC played a much better game than Gasoleros FC and deserved their victory. The Gasoleros FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
