In the 5th minute of the match Jenipapo SC got a corner. Jipa RO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardinho Pena ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ricardinho Pena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fabinho Prestes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabinho Prestes had great luck who in the 5thth minute grab hold of the ball when Zé Carlos Monteiro from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Fabinho Prestes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aníbal Alagoano in the 10th minute. Jenipapo SC's David Seaman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evair Gøl in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Ricardinho Pena hit a great ball. If Norbert Konopka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Ricardinho Pena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabinho Prestes was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 20thth minute of the game Aníbal Alagoano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jipa RO's Fabinho Prestes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aníbal Alagoano was the one to do the kick off. David Seaman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Konopka, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Jipa RO booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but David Seaman made a huge save. When Jenipapo SC's Ricardinho Pena in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
