The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vânderson Saa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Godoi in the 5th minute. Eliézer de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Allan Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Dale Dolar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boyd Kaufman kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Alexandre Thanos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcellos Mineiro FC the free kick. In the 25th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Thanos to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Dale Dolar came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Dolar in the 31st minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Dolar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Dale Dolar came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Thanos kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Godoi was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Dale Dolar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dale Dolar in the 54th minute. Dale Dolar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Allan Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Vânderson Saa came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi. But to his dismay, Paulo Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution. Olavi Vilo replaced Eliézer de Carvalho. The throw-in from Moisés Matorin in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Boyd Kaufman. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitório Lago in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vânderson Saa saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. If Dale Dolar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 82 minutes into the game, Dale Dolar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Allan Varela. Dale Dolar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Allan Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dale Dolar in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Vitório Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vânderson Saa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Barcellos Mineiro FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
