Merced AFC's Salvador Lazcano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruninho Arce in the 8th minute of play. Salvador Lazcano made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Aberama Gold sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 11 in the game by Bruninho Arce from a close distance when the talented Salvador Lazcano managed to make a qualified save. Merced AFC's players were relieved. In the 12th minute of the match C.A. RIBEIRÃO got a corner. Merced AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The corner ended in Rothem Čulen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Merced AFC's Salvador Lazcano did a great save. 15 minutes into the match, Merced AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aberama Gold came free, but Salvador Lazcano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salvador Lazcano was a little too slow when Aberama Gold got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosme Filipo in the 20th minute of play forced C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goalkeeper Max Graf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A. RIBEIRÃO's Aberama Gold got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute José Carlos Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Graf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Max Graf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Alfonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aberama Gold got free with Salvador Lazcano in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Max Graf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Alfonso in the 29th minute of the match. Bruninho Arce came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Salvador Lazcano could save by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Merced AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas Gomes came free, but Salvador Lazcano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Dudu Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Palban came free, but Max Graf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Arce in the 47th minute of play forced Merced AFC's goalkeeper Salvador Lazcano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baltasar Alfonso was the one to do the kick off. Max Graf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Carlos Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.A. RIBEIRÃO's Max Graf proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save C.A. RIBEIRÃO from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Bruninho Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Lazcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Merced AFC's zone, Aberama Gold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Salvador Lazcano came out of the goal and Aberama Gold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Bruninho Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Merced AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas Gomes came free, but Salvador Lazcano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Dario Estebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Arce in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Lazcano saved Merced AFC from getting behind. Salvador Lazcano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aberama Gold, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the match, C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Damião came free, but Max Graf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When C.A. Salvador Lazcano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aberama Gold in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdir de Amaral during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, C.A. RIBEIRÃO's Valdir de Amaral got a free kick in the 87th minute. Merced AFC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though C.A. RIBEIRÃO had controlled the match.
