Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pipis Karapatakis took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Tiburcio Guillelmo came free, but Jardel Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evelio Salvadore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 6th minute. In the 15th minute of the game Filip Wawrukiewicz made a throw-in which Sven-Hendrik Ohmer played forward. Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Hendrik Ohmer in the 16th minute of play. Sven-Hendrik Ohmer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jardel Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes Grêmio FBPA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tiburcio Guillelmo who took care of the corner kick. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Evelio Salvadore successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 26th minute Grêmio FBPA were awarded a corner. Alberto Estevon went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Grêmio FBPA's Alberto Estevon to fire away a dangerous shot which Evelio Salvadore despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Grêmio FBPA's Nestor Leão managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gottfrid Ek in the 28 minute of the game. Pipis Karapatakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Evelio Salvadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Hendrik Ohmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiburcio Guillelmo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Grêmio FBPA's Nestor Leão quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven-Hendrik Ohmer was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Sven-Hendrik Ohmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jardel Sanches came out of the goal and Sven-Hendrik Ohmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 53 minutes into the game, Pipis Karapatakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Evelio Salvadore was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Nestor Leão got a free kick in the 56th minute. When Pipis Karapatakis came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pipis Karapatakis couldn't finish the play. Grêmio FBPA's Eriberto Berger was substituted for Pipis Karapatakis. Eriberto Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evelio Salvadore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eriberto Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. If Eriberto Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A.Esparta's Froilan Nerio was substituted for Dércio Valentim. A sloppy throw-in by Rafa de Almeida in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C.A.Esparta's Gottfrid Ek. Oswaldo Junior's late challenge caught a Grêmio FBPA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswaldo Junior helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th match minute, C.A.Esparta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Junior to maneuver through the defense. After 95 minutes, Marcos Acuña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A.Esparta and the Grêmio FBPA players grew even worse after the yellow card. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Grêmio FBPA fully deserved thier win.
