Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Cesar Romildo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amadeu Lamego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Carlos Esteves hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SAO JOANENSE FC's zone, Gogo Elequemedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Lamego came out of the goal and Gogo Elequemedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SAO JOANENSE FC's Amadeu Lamego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Elequemedo in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Valentin Laurendi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 70th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Amadeu Lamego but with some difficulty.
