The penalty shot was made by Elivélton de Castro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marquês de Herval's Oscar Freire. 0-1. The Marquês de Herval players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. América-SC F.C. were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vinny Junior stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elivélton de Castro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute Vinny Junior shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Zoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. One of Marquês de Herval:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of América-SC F.C.:s goal. Marquês de Herval:s Oscar Freire showed great skill when he stopped Elivélton de Castro:s penalty. Oscar Freire came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by América-SC F.C.'s Elivélton de Castro. But to his dismay, Elivélton de Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 83rd minute Jaime Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Guedes hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Pedrinho de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. América-SC F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrinho de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oscar Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Henrique in the 92nd minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Oscar Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Henrique in the 98th minute of play. Oscar Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Henrique, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 101st minute of the match. After 102 played minutes, Marquês de Herval's Igor Guedes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raul Zoff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marquês de Herval reached it.
