In the 31st minute, Horia Bodiu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnny Paredes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Johnny Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcu Cruceru in the 35th minute of play. With 55 minutes on the clock, Reyes Barcenilla commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Caaguazu made a substitution. Jorge Roman replaced Franko Estades. In the 55th minute, one of Caaguazu:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caaguazu. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Johnny Paredes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
