Wiggo Wipp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jakes Vila might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nils-Åke Andreasson. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Lesardo Alavedra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Alavés's supporters rose to their feet, but Lesardo Alavedra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Valerón breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remigio Valerón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Solera in the 93rd minute of the match. Deportivo Alavés's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
