With a left leg Johnny Paredes saved Caaguazu from getting behind. The corner led to SORRISO E. C.'s Edinho de Moraes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Diego Toledo got a free kick in the 12th minute. Christiano Arce didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kismi Sierralta went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Negri in the 21st minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Johnny Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Caaguazu booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olívio Meirelles made in the 29th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Diguinho Gaúcho however managed to control. C.'s protests and gave Edinho de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. When Arlo Albiz came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Caaguazu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arlo Albiz couldn't finish the play. Johnny Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Paraense in the 47th minute of the match. In the 47thth minute of the game Fernandinho Negri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caaguazu's Johnny Paredes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kismi Sierralta to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Johnny Paredes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caaguazu.
