The referee showed Victoriano Quintin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Victoriano Quintin hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Freddie Gettins, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Bates in the 16th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Cayetano Behe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Sam Bates had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cayetano Behe. Deportivo Balvanera's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Bates was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Samuil Saldzhiev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marciano Koldobika kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Memphis Grizzlies's Sam Bates in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deportivo Balvanera's goalie prevented a goal. Jimeno Oxel made in the 28th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cristobal Hulberto however managed to control. Jimeno Oxel hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Pat Zamora made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Lisandro López sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot by Fabricio Errapel from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Pat Zamora's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Lisandro López could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Pat Zamora made a huge save. When Jimeno Oxel fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Balvanera's protests and gave Jimeno Oxel a yellow card for diving instead. Jimeno Oxel hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute of the match Memphis Grizzlies got a corner. Deportivo Balvanera's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Freddie Gettins ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ma Kun made a great header on Memphis Grizzlies's corner, it was just that Deportivo Balvanera's Cayetano Behe managed to reach the ball for a save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sam Bates to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yin Zhen Feng to maneuver through the defense. Vinicio Checa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pat Zamora. Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sam Bates recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cayetano Behe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Bates in the 58th minute of play. Deportivo Balvanera's Cayetano Behe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Bates in the 64th minute of play. When Samuil Saldzhiev came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Memphis Grizzlies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuil Saldzhiev couldn't finish the play. Deportivo Balvanera made a substitution. Deportivo Balvanera's Cayetano Behe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Balvanera from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Hayden Sharp came free, but Cayetano Behe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Cayetano Behe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuil Saldzhiev. Pat Zamora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Milito in the 95th minute of the match. The Memphis Grizzlies supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Memphis Grizzlies would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
