Emílio Terra was slow to take the kick. During this time Errecaborda AFC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Emílio Terra got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Armindo Salgado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute Errecaborda AFC were awarded a corner. Emílio Terra went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Braga in the 22nd minute of play forced Errecaborda AFC's goalkeeper Edmond Verdun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Errecaborda AFC's Joe Tate fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Joe Tate's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Salgado was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 44th match minute, VB-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim de Barros to maneuver through the defense. Enzo Pellecchia's late challenge caught a Errecaborda AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enzo Pellecchia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th minute, Enzo Pellecchia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Emílio Terra hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Luís Caeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pastor Ado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Armindo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Errecaborda AFC's Rogelio Jakes was substituted for Aírton Urbano. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Caeiro in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmond Verdun saved Errecaborda AFC from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Errecaborda AFC's Armindo Salgado threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mauro Rameriz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidro Gines in the 96th minute of play.
