An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 19th minute of play forced VN BAKITO's goalkeeper Ruslan Rúklyov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denimir Tzonkov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Abbiati having to make a save. Ruslan Rúklyov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Söderberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denimir Tzonkov to make the kick off.
