The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Garcia got free with Percival de Queirós in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miau Stars's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Wágner Massa scored to the left of an out of position Percival de Queirós, making the score, 2-0. Miau Stars's Percival de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Massa in the 32nd minute of play. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s Reinaldo Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mina Felina in the 34th minute of play. If Akira Beatrix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Agnaldo Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Miau Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reinaldo Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mina Felina in the 73rd minute of play. Miau Stars's Percival de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Novaes in the 80th minute of play. When Anísio Pontes fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miau Stars's protests and gave Anísio Pontes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Anísio Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Miau Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Garcia came free, but Percival de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
