Deivid Fantini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diguinho Nóbrega read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Deivid Fantini who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Diguinho Nóbrega when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jano Macedo hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Claudinho Rossi made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sport Club Mavericks's Jairo Bastos. Claudemiro Fragoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudemiro Fragoso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diguinho Nóbrega. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudemiro Fragoso in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diguinho Nóbrega saved PIRATAS TFP from getting behind. Claudemiro Fragoso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diguinho Nóbrega came out and tried to block the shot, but Claudemiro Fragoso slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. Claudinho Rossi made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sport Club Mavericks's Jairo Bastos. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind PIRATAS TFP's goalkeeper Diguinho Nóbrega, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diguinho Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudemiro Fragoso in the 33rd minute of play. Claudemiro Fragoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diguinho Nóbrega. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudemiro Fragoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Diguinho Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudemiro Fragoso in the 36th minute of play. Xande Gay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Silveira in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudemiro Fragoso in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diguinho Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute of the match Sport Club Mavericks got a corner. PIRATAS TFP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fernando Lucas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fernando Lucas made a great header on Sport Club Mavericks's corner, it was just that PIRATAS TFP's Diguinho Nóbrega managed to reach the ball for a save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cafu Silveira to make the kick off. Sport Club Mavericks's Jairo Bastos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Claudinho Rossi, made in the 51st minute of the game. After 52 minutes of play, Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diguinho Nóbrega was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Sílvio Luiz de Godoi replaced Jairo Bastos. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. The corner led Sport Club Mavericks's Fernando Lucas to fire away a dangerous shot which Diguinho Nóbrega despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinho Rossi during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when PIRATAS TFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Hélio Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Mavericks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sport Club Mavericks fully deserved thier win.
