The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hílton da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Proença having to interfere. Claudinei Mesquita hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Claudinei Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cafu Silveira in the 7th minute. Hílton da Silva hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when PIRATAS TFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu Silveira hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Cafu Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The wind increased when Sidnei Mineiro made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to PIRATAS TFP getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Artur de Sena hit a great ball. 51 minutes into the match, PIRATAS TFP's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Pereira came free, but Diguinho Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PIRATAS TFP's Hílton da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinei Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Silveira in the 71st minute of play. Luís Fernando Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Diguinho Nóbrega made a huge save. Jano Macedo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Diguinho Nóbrega was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Duda Ceresso. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Breguete FC's goalkeeper Claudinei Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diguinho Nóbrega made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei Mineiro in the 87th minute. Hílton da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Duda Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Breguete FC's protests and gave Duda Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. Duda Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Manfredo de Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diguinho Nóbrega showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Despite being the better team, Breguete FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
