The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, one of PREZULO FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 3 minutes, Sport Club Mavericks's Fernando Lucas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dida Brasil. When Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PREZULO FC's goalie prevented a goal. Dida Brasil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudemiro Fragoso in the 9th minute. Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudemiro Fragoso struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Dida Brasil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Mavericks. Xande Gay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Garrincha in the 23rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Ronaldo Nazário De Lima put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Xande Gay. After 27 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Fantini. After 29 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Lucas. Valdir Ferraz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xande Gay. Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Claudemiro Fragoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudemiro Fragoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sport Club Mavericks's Conrado Sanches managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by César Vieira in the 35 minute of the game. Eliseu de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xande Gay having to interfere. When Claudinei Couto fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PREZULO FC's protests and gave Claudinei Couto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Claudemiro Fragoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Dida Brasil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudemiro Fragoso's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. After 52 minutes of play, Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Brasil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudemiro Fragoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Brasil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Sport Club Mavericks's Elder Arantes was substituted for Deivid Fantini. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Hélio Nascimento replaced Claudemiro Fragoso. The corner ended in Fernando Lucas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PREZULO FC's Dida Brasil did a great save. The audience was convinced that Hélio Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Brasil was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. When Sport Club Mavericks's Hélio Nascimento in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dida Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélio Nascimento went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Dida Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Nascimento in the 78th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by César Vieira in the 80th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sport Club Mavericks's Hélio Nascimento. In the 81st minute, Hélio Nascimento made a precise shot to the right of Dida Brasil. PREZULO FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. 83 minutes into the game, Elder Arantes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Mavericks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PREZULO FC the free kick. Elder Arantes hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Xande Gay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Marquez in the 85th minute of play. PREZULO FC's Dida Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Arantes in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes, Renan Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PREZULO FC and the Sport Club Mavericks players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 90 played minutes PREZULO FC got a freekick which was hit by Renan Mota. When Sport Club Mavericks's Elder Arantes in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PREZULO FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the referee ended the match the Sport Club Mavericks players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
