PIRATAS TFP's Hílton da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Cafu Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aloísio Simão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Alfredinho Lopez hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Cafu Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Simão having to make a save. Aloísio Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diguinho Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademir Moreno during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ademir Moreno hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Diguinho Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Lopez in the 46th minute of the match. After having played for 48 minutes, Cafu Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PIRATAS TFP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cafu Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Cafu Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
