Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Claudinei Proença successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 6th minute of the match Sport Club Mavericks got a corner. Breguete FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fernando Lucas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Fernando Lucas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudinei Proença quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 7 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinei Proença narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Murilo Godoi's late challenge caught a Sport Club Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murilo Godoi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Xande Gay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fernando Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when Sport Club Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Lucas made a great header on Sport Club Mavericks's corner, it was just that Breguete FC's Claudinei Proença managed to reach the ball for a save. The corner led Sport Club Mavericks's Fernando Lucas to fire away a dangerous shot which Claudinei Proença despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deivid Fantini was the one to do the kick off. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Breguete FC. 56 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Toledo came free, but Claudinei Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sport Club Mavericks fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Sport Club Mavericks's Claudemiro Fragoso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution.
