In the 25th minute José Augusto Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Gaspar in the 26th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Claudinei Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Breguete FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. José Augusto Mesquita took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Guga Negri managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 73 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo Gaspar came free, but Claudinei Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fábio Palmeira hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
