Clemente Leobardo had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Haciqämbär Carabajal's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dé Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Campos having to interfere. Jorge Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soner Şentürk in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute Benprev were awarded a corner. Zé Paulo Madureira went to the cornerflag to take it. Benprev's Zé Paulo Madureira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jorge Campos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jorge Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Benprev booed when A.C. Paulistano - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eilert Mørck's late challenge caught a A.C. Paulistano - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eilert Mørck helped the player get up and apologised. Eilert Mørck hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Paulistano - DMZ's Jorge Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Mendonça in the 36th minute of play. Paulistano - DMZ defense, Guto Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Campos. The A.C. Paulistano - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Campos should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Benprev could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than A.C. Paulistano - DMZ throughout the match.
