PIRATAS TFP's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Santos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Antônio Borges when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Antônio Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute of the match, Peter Santos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Antônio Borges saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Samurai Champions FC's Márcio de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto de Lara in the 44th minute of play. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save PIRATAS TFP from getting a goal against them. When Adrianinho Leme fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samurai Champions FC's protests and gave Adrianinho Leme a yellow card for diving instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Márcio de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto de Lara in the 54th minute of play. Antônio Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Santos in the 58th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Tiro Peralta in the 62nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Samurai Champions FC's Valentín Pascal. 65 minutes into the match, PIRATAS TFP's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Recife came free, but Antônio Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 played minutes PIRATAS TFP got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Simão.
