The supporters of Italy booed when Kalatakaya F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Recep Guftar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benito Lluterio. 7 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Recep Guftar came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute Kalatakaya F.C. were awarded a corner. Alejandro Chumacero went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 11th minute, Sigfrido Auletta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Benito Lluterio took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Luis Galarza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute Benito Lluterio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 80th minute Amável Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Helmut Gutiérrez in the 85 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Kalatakaya F.C.'s zone, Adriano Curto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Galarza came out of the goal and Adriano Curto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Chumacero in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kalatakaya F.C.'s goalkeeper Luis Galarza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guiscardo Davide in the 93rd minute of play forced Kalatakaya F.C.'s goalkeeper Luis Galarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amável Falcão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
