In the 16th minute of the match Serafim Salles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Armstrong showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Patrick Armstrong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist got control of the ball when Peter Linkhorst tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Våleman in the 41st minute of play. After 48 minutes of play, Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick Armstrong was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Linkhorst to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 55th minute of play forced ManagerZone Crew's goalkeeper Patrick Armstrong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgiliu Doroftei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Patrick Armstrong made a huge save. Grêmio FBPA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mané Goiano in the 58th minute. Stayko Vakareliyski made a great header on Grêmio FBPA's corner, it was just that ManagerZone Crew's Patrick Armstrong managed to reach the ball for a save. Grêmio FBPA's Serafim Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Virgiliu Doroftei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Våleman in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Goiano to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Roberto Linhares got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute, Ulysses Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Virgiliu Doroftei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Grêmio FBPA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
