Portugal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Horaţiu Măcrinici scored to the left of an out of position Wilson Amorim, making the score, 1-0. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 15th minute of the match. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Matos in the 17th minute of play. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Caco Matos sent off a good shot on target. After 22 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Volli Ant. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 26 minutes of play, Portugal's Felipe Barreto made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mickaël Maris was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Gerazan got free with Wilson Amorim in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 35th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Horaţiu Măcrinici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Bartolomeu Dias sped through Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mickaël Maris. 79 minutes into the game, Caco Matos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 85th minute Ladislao Gerazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 86th minute of play. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horaţiu Măcrinici's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. In the 95th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
