Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. With an all-out effort, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Horaţiu Măcrinici, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Raul Caetano hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ovidio Marko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Marko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 11th minute of play. Ladislao Gerazan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Graciano Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickaël Maris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horaţiu Măcrinici's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Wilson Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ovidio Marko. In the 26th minute, Daniel Pimentel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Horaţiu Măcrinici showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. In the 31st minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickaël Maris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Ladislao Gerazan could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Wilson Amorim however easily saved by the left post. Ovidio Marko made in the 33rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 34th minute of the match. Mickaël Maris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Portugal's Viriato Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mickaël Maris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horaţiu Măcrinici to strike the kick off in the second half. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ovidio Marko in the 51 minute of the game. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Mickaël Maris in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felipe Barretos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Mickaël Maris to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 57th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Ovidio Marko in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. 66 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Vaz came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 68th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Horaţiu Măcrinici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 85th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Pimentel in the 86th minute. Faustino Almeida was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 88th minute of play. The throw-in from Ovidio Marko in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Ladislao Gerazan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ladislao Gerazan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
