Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Leheren was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 39th minute of play forced Deportivo Luz y Fuerza's goalkeeper Martin Leheren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miran Moco. Deportivo Luz y Fuerza's Attilio Casciano got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. After 70 minutes of play, Deportivo Luz y Fuerza's Verner Nordin made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Attilio Casciano sped through Portugal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. But to his dismay, Miran Moco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. 95 minutes into the match, Daniel Pimentel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Martin Leheren, 6-3. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Deportivo Luz y Fuerza fully deserved thier win.
