Elpidio Francis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Wilson Amorim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 14 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. In the 18th minute of the match, Miguel Prosperi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Amorim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 45th minute, Venancio Havier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

62 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
