Grêmio FBPA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Mohammad Shamsah scored to the left of an out of position Andréas Linquist, making the score, 1-0. 46 minutes into the match, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's goal looked a bit too open when Virgiliu Doroftei came free, but Aguirre Verde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Christobal in the 65th minute of play. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emil Plop in the 68th minute. Emil Plop made a great header on DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's corner, it was just that Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist managed to reach the ball for a save. Andréas Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aadil Al Sherazi, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Andréas Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jürgen Fahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Natã Ramalho. Emil Plop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
