Thanks to some nice moves Caio da Rocha could shoot a difficult shot in the 3rd minute, which Wilson Amorim however easily saved by the left post. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caio da Rocha in the 9th minute. When Bruno Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portugal's protests and gave Bruno Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Owen in the 14th minute of play. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Barreto scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Bueno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Michael Owen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. In the 28th minute of the game Olin Munster made a throw-in which Quinton Marcheterre played forward. In the 29th minute of the match, Michael Owen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Amorim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 37th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graciano Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Alfonzo Davidson was substituted for Gary Thomason. The supporters of Qikiqtarjuaq FC booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graciano Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daron Keen was slow to take the kick. During this time Qikiqtarjuaq FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Qikiqtarjuaq FC's corner Daron Keen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. If Chong Sheppard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Abel Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Bueno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Portugal's Felipe Barreto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 58th match minute, Qikiqtarjuaq FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonzo Davidson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Portugal booed when Qikiqtarjuaq FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonzo Davidson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Abel Bueno threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Viriato Moura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 63rd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Caio da Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. In the 69th minute, Fabricio Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caio da Rocha scored 2-2 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 74 minutes, Bartolomeu Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartolomeu Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caio da Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caio da Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio da Rocha in the 89th minute of the match. When Fabricio Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
