When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Youri Borderie sped through Hungary's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The supporters of U.S.Normande booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Katona Janos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes, U.S.Normande's Fred Battini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fodor Daniel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U.S.Normande reached it. In the 17th minute, Antal Valentin made a precise shot to the right of Christopher Barnier. U.S.Normande's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 24th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Takacs Tibor to maneuver through the defense. Youri Borderie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. In the 26th minute Hegedus Henrik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Barnier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes U.S.Normande's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Hungary's Antal Valentin to fire away a dangerous shot which Christopher Barnier despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Balazs Lajos hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, U.S.Normande's Aymerick Tourrette sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fodor Daniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Rune Mellberg in the 31st minute. Christopher Barnier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 32nd minute of the match. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fodor Daniel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 47th minute of play forced U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fred Battini was slow to take the kick. During this time U.S.Normande's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Aurélien Mussard got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fodor Daniel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Yoann Louvet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes U.S.Normande got a freekick which was hit by Fred Battini. 58 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Rune Mellberg came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Rune Mellberg in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Christopher Barnier in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, U.S.Normande's Christopher Barnier got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Youri Borderie in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurélien Mussard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The U.S.Normande fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hungary had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
