In the 70th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 96th minute of play forced Moerhuize's goalkeeper Herman Kindermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
