Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Cidro came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nunez Oroitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Nunez Oroitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Carolo Jerardo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Carolo Jerardo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 20th minute Deportivo Pergamino were awarded a corner. Albino Jeraldo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Portugal's goalie and right to Cesar Egun. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Portugal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Daniel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Deportivo Pergamino getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Nunez Oroitz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 26th minute of play forced Deportivo Pergamino's goalkeeper Roberto Bonano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Viriato Moura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 37 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pergamino's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Roberto Bonano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Cidro in the 38th minute of play. Cesar Egun hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Cesar Egun charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesar Egun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th match minute, Deportivo Pergamino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Egun to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Barreto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roberto Bonano. Deportivo Pergamino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Gustavo Che fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Pergamino's protests and gave Gustavo Che a yellow card for diving instead. Gustavo Che hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Roberto Bonano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carolo Jerardo made a kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pergamino's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pimentel came free, but Roberto Bonano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 51st minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Cidro, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Roberto Bonano made a huge save. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Oroitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nunez Arnas hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute Kang Li shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo Pergamino's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Caetano Moreira scored to the left of an out of position Roberto Bonano, making the score, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graciano Coutinho in the 89th minute of play forced Deportivo Pergamino's goalkeeper Roberto Bonano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Kang Li notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Pergamino fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
