The corner led Italy's Eliseo Cutri to fire away a dangerous shot which Benjamim Dante despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benjamim Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseo Cutri's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luiz Ferreira in the 13th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerd Müller to make the kick off. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Guiscardo Davide was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamim Dante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Many of Italy's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Italy may have spent more time on the ball, but Estrela Solitária were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
