A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Augusto Ellande quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Augusto Ellande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Wim Wilmes hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Ivar Nordmo got free with Arnout Reekers in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Jan-Ivar Nordmo scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kubat Älibalalı in the 67th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Augusto Ellande made a huge save. 73 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Augusto Ellande. Gustaaf Groeneveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Augusto Ellande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Meesters in the 76th minute. Alvaro Abar made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Augusto Ellande threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Augusto Ellande made a huge save. In the 97th minute, Geovanni Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
