A nice corner shot did that Egbert Nijveldt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luís Eduardo Garcia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Erivaldo Maia sent off a good shot on target. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José de Queirós went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Tatu Loco hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, José de Queirós put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. Guadalupe FC's Hílton Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Eduardo Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 38th minute of the match. Lars Meesters kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Luís Eduardo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José de Queirós to make the kick off. Guadalupe FC's Luís Eduardo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 51st minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Guadalupe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kanu Grosso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guadalupe FC's Luís Guilherme Vides was substituted for Pedro Luís Lopes. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 62nd minute of play forced Guadalupe FC's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luís Eduardo Garcia firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Guilherme Vides in the 69th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Nijveldt. 91 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when José de Queirós came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
