Gabriel Ascaso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adria Bielsa in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Omar Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 15th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Nordmark came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Aranda's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Aranda helped the player get up and apologised. Alperen Öksüz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Silva made a kick off. Tio Lio took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Ascaso. Gabriel Ascaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 73 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Tio Lio came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Ascaso came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by New England Minas's Tio Lio. But to his dismay, Tio Lio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Spain's Pau Herrero was substituted for David Aranda. 84 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Ruiz came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carles Cherro, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Ruiz in the 92nd minute of the match. Jeremy Nicholas was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Carles Cherro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carles Cherro really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Spain were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
