Carol Stinga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredric Hybbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Alex Serban notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Kurdistan's Alaaddin Solskjær. Alaaddin Solskjær was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carol Stinga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iwan Kasiewski in the 39th minute.

In the 53rd minute Jörgen Levander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carol Stinga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rasvan Cristescu struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Alaaddin Solskjær didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romania. When the final whistle sounded Romania left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Kurdistan.
