In the 18th minute, Kees Mooiweer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Mohieddine Ayari came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 21st minute of play forced BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Silvestre Natanael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvestre Natanael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mohieddine Ayari was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. Silvestre Natanael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 57th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Silvestre Natanael could save by the left post. Silvestre Natanael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvestre Natanael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Silvestre Natanael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Silvestre Natanael made a huge save. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Silvestre Natanael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 81st minute of play. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Mohieddine Ayari got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvestre Natanael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Silvestre Natanael didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. In the 94th play minute Wim Wilmes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Silvestre Natanael. 0-2. Netherlands played a much better game than BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB and deserved their victory. The BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
