Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Alfredo Martins started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 4th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Marquês de Herval's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gao Xiang Guang in the 31st minute. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Martins went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Alfredo Martins sped through Italy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. After a rather tough play, Italy's Eliseo Cutri got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Zena Busacca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gao Xiang Guang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zaccheo Andolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 58th minute. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 60th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Zaccheo Andolina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Zaccheo Andolina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Alfredo Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Cutri kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Italy's Eliseo Cutri got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 74 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Gonzalez. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. After 77 minutes Marquês de Herval's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sigfrido Auletta who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Italy's Zaccheo Andolina getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Acácio Cunha threw the ball into play from the sideline. Italy's Sostene Vitulli quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Dida Taffarel was a little too slow when Sigfrido Auletta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 2-1. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. Guiscardo Davide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Taffarel was a little too slow when Adriano Curto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 2-2. Italy were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
