Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Adam Jansson hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bennvar Noobel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Griffin in the 17th minute. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sigfrido Auletta in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Song Wei Yun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Miguel Caruana made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Samuel Griffin immediately put the ball in play. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Samuel Griffin sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute, Seraċini Għawdxin's Samuel Griffin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Seraċini Għawdxin's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Italy's Eliseo Cutri to fire away a dangerous shot which Bennvar Noobel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 55th minute, Siricio Liotta fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bennvar Noobel, passed just outside the right post. Bennvar Noobel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Italy's corner Porziano Marchitelli fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bennvar Noobel quite easily take care of the ball. Bennvar Noobel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th match minute, Seraċini Għawdxin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Caruana to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Adam Jansson notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Sigfrido Aulettas short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Bennvar Noobel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zaccheo Andolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
