Edward Vanderstraeten was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, FC Germania München's Richard Mühsam got control of the ball when Nigel Devos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Hägele, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Richard Mühsam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 72nd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
