But to his dismay, Lei Feng Yan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Lars Meesters sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esen Sanal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ricardinho de Senna got a free kick in the 18th minute. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 26 minutes of play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Benedykt Pankiewicz made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esen Sanal having to interfere. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedykt Pankiewicz in the 35th minute of play. The corner ended in Lei Feng Yan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers did a great save. In the 38th match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedykt Pankiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Esen Sanal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Esen Sanal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Mario Pochekanski was substituted for Benedykt Pankiewicz. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Mario Pochekanski made the kick off in the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Esen Sanal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Gernando Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krisztián Véber, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Esen Sanal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 75 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Pochekanski came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esen Sanal made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 80th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 88th minute of play. Mario Pochekanski scored 4-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mario Pochekanski charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Pochekanski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Mario Pochekanski hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardinho de Senna in the 98th minute of the match. Netherlands's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because S.E.R. Caxias do Sul had won, even though Netherlands had held more of the ball.
