If Larry Hallam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Majewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 45 minutes Andorra's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Grzegorz Soszka who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Gilbert Cipinski heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Damian Majewski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Caleb Barrett. That made the score 0-3 in the 54 minute of play. Marek Czech could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Caleb Barrett made a huge save. 75 minutes into the match, Poland's Marek Czech sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caleb Barrett narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andorra's Caleb Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Andorra from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Tommy Butcher in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Poland's Radomil Michnik. After 80 played minutes Andorra got a freekick which was hit by Alex Martinez. With a little luck, Andorra's Caleb Barrett got control of the ball when Marek Czech tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Marek Czech reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Caleb Barrett. The goal made the score 0-4. Caleb Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marek Czech's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Andorra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Grzegorz Soszka was slow to take the kick. During this time Poland's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ryszard Dytrych almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Andorra's Caleb Barrett did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillem Agulló in the 90th minute of play forced Poland's goalkeeper Tolek Kiszkiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Andorra's Caleb Barrett got control of the ball when Marek Czech tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Poland eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
