Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Kirkpatrick. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Fred Kirkpatrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rhys Dimmock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergey Krasinskiy got free with Arnout Reekers in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rhys Dimmock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Fred Kirkpatrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 37 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Sergey Krasinskiy. Mugurel Balaeț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

51 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Lane came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Mugurel Balaeț had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mugurel Balaeț was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 56th minute, Leonardo Lane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was a well-played corner which Egbert Nijveldt managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daron Joseph in the 70th minute of play. When Mugurel Balaeț came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Zamalek FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugurel Balaeț couldn't finish the play. Rhys Dimmock made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugurel Balaeț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Elin Elin hit a great ball. The corner led Netherlands's Egbert Nijveldt to a score. 2-1 in the 88th minute. In the 92nd minute, Lars Meesters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
