Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emanuel Markham started the match with the kick off. Leif Opdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 4th minute of the match. Leif Opdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Markham in the 12th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leif Opdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 14th minute of the match. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Markham came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kai Østbye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leif Opdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 32 minutes, Kai Østbye mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brufoss IL and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Kai Østbye got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After some careless play in the Brufoss IL defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leif Opdal. The Brufoss IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Opdal should have stopped the shot. In the 39th minute, Brufoss IL's Frode Tobiassen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Schol to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Leif Opdal made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Emmanuel Schol got a free kick in the 55th minute. After 57 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gust Ennemans. Kai Østbye took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Leif Opdal made a huge save. Kevin Strømsnes hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Leif Opdal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Opdal having to interfere. Brufoss IL made a substitution. In the 80th minute, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Leif Opdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 95th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakob Lode to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
