Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witold Bycofski, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Witold Bycofski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thorsten Ternes was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 60th minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Stanislaw Maziarski went to the cornerflag to take it.
