Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nico-Pascal Kapteina got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the game, one of U21 Austria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave U21 Poland a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jan Pająk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Austria's Thorsten Ternes. 0-1. Thorsten Ternes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Pająk in the 9th minute of the match. Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witold Bycofski, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Tanek Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Schriebl in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Jan Pająk made a precise shot to the right of Thorsten Ternes. U21 Austria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Witold Bycofski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thorsten Ternes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the U21 Austria defense, Kamilo Glik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thorsten Ternes. The U21 Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thorsten Ternes should have stopped the shot. After the first half U21 Poland were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Pająk was the one to do the kick off. U21 Austria's Thorsten Ternes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Pająk in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Witold Bycofski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thorsten Ternes was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 60th minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Stanislaw Maziarski went to the cornerflag to take it. A sloppy throw-in by Hans-Jürgen Krügers in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Poland's Zdzislaw Rydzewski. Van Von Bischhoffshausen charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Van Von Bischhoffshausen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Van Von Bischhoffshausen hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Thorsten Ternes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Witold Bycofski went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. U21 Austria's Luca Divis was substituted for Dennis-Sven Piater. U21 Poland made a substitution. Roman Fujarczuk replaced Karol Andrzejewski. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Esposito during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. U21 Austria made a substitution. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Haase in the 89th minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Tanek Wojtyna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Eric Esposito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. 97 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Esposito came free, but Thorsten Ternes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
