Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henri Thomasse in the 72nd minute of play. Antal Valentin in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Alain Sutter went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Alain Sutter almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. In the 84th minute of the match FC Caspiy got a corner. Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alain Sutter ran over to the corner to take the kick. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
